Where to eat in Arkhyz in winter: Caucasian cuisine near the lifts
In Romantik you can eat at cafés and restaurants by the lifts, in the village itself and in hotels. Check opening hours and status in Yandex Maps or 2GIS on the day of your trip: schedules change in winter. For Caucasian cuisine, try khychiny, charcoal-grilled shashlik, mountain cheese, ayran and herbal tea. From 1 December 2026, Istorii Vkusa restaurant opens in the Hotel Imperial building, a 7-minute walk from the Milky Way cable car.
How to choose a place after skiing
In winter in Romantik, two things matter: how far you have to walk in ski boots and whether the place is actually open today. A few practical rules:
- Check the status on the day. Open the listing in Yandex Maps or 2GIS and look at the hours. If it is marked “temporarily closed”, call the number in the listing.
- For evenings on holidays and weekends, book a table in advance. Most of the resort’s restaurants take bookings by phone or messenger.
- Lunch close to the slope, dinner at leisure. During the day, a place a few minutes from the lift is more convenient. In the evening you can choose by cuisine.
- If you are travelling with children, check in advance whether there is a kids’ menu and high chairs.
Restaurant round-ups for Arkhyz are published by Yandex Travel, Tripadvisor and 2GIS. They are handy for comparing reviews and photos.
What to try: 5 Caucasian dishes

| Charcoal-grilled shashlik | meat cooked on a grill over an open fire |
| Mountain cheese | local cheese, served on its own or baked into pastries |
